The Surprise Shockers got a superb performance from pitcher Zhi-huan Qing, but the Redwood Rhinos still won the game, 7-1. Qing came in in relief and pitched to 22 batters. Ramiro Ramírez, the winner, improved to 1-2. He held the Shockers to 1 run on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 10 and walking 1. Surprise drops to 2-8.

Redwood relied on the hitting of Sandross Bañaga to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Rhinos on top, 7-1. For the game, Bañaga had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Bañaga told a Redwood Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
