Baby Lakers Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
|
In the 9-6 Bompton win over Germantown, the impact of Augusto Morán was substantial. Morán was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Bompton reliever Ed Petty was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Kantaro Suzuki. Bompton, now 6-2, is setting the league on fire so far.
Bompton used the timely hitting of Yun-tae Pyon to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Baby Lakers on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"There's no quit in this team," said Baby Lakers manager Júlio Villegas.
