Brian Palmer knocked in 3 runs to help Fort Knox beat Beaumont, 9-3. Palmer produced 1 single and 2 home runs. Roy Roberts was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Joe Harding sewed up the save, his 1st.

The Crossbeaus had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Centennial going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the top prospect Chong-hun Chon came to the plate. Chon hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 curveball from Beaumont hurler Toshiki Hara. It was Chon's 8th double of the year.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Palmer.

The first-place Centennial have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
