Ballard got a terrific game from designated hitter Ramón Domínguez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Hicksville, 4-3. Domínguez went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Domingo Gonzáles got the win, improving to 5-5. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 2. Dean Bradley, credited with the save, is now 13 for 20 in save opportunities.
The Hounds grabbed the lead in the top of the sixth. With no one out, Pat Martin, who is tied for 7th in the PA- in hits with 94, hit a solo home run off Fernando Fonseca, putting Hicksville in front, 4-1. For Martin, it was his 16th home run of the season.
"It's good to win," Martin told the Hicksville Herald. "I like to have fun doing it."
Hicksville is now 56-37.
