Tanner Powers Baby Lakers to 2-0 Win
|
The 2-0 Bompton win over Redwood was due largely to Richard Tanner. The Baby Lakers center fielder threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball. Tanner, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 14 and giving up 1 walk. Sandro Gonzáles got the save, the 1st for him this season.
The Baby Lakers got a big hit from third baseman Shu-yen Fu. In the bottom of the fifth, Fu pounded a solo home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season put the Baby Lakers ahead, 2-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Fu said after the game.
Redwood falls to 1-3.
