People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.
Ramiro Tapián never let Shady Side get something going. The Hicksville right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Hounds to a 2-1 win. Dean Bradley, now 9-7, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings.
Kauno Sihvonen contributed to the Hounds cause with a productive at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he grounded out, driving in 1 run, giving Hicksville the lead.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Sihvonen said.
Hicksville is now 46-36.
