Lloyd Best never let Shady Side get something going. The Fort Knox right-hander commanded his sinker in pitching the Centennial to a 4-1 win. Best got the win, improving to 9-2. He allowed 1 hit and walked 0 over 6 innings. Best allowed 1 run. The save went to Brent Aspden, number 2 for him.
José Rojas didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run triple to put Fort Knox on top, 2-0.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Rojas. "Just do my job."
The Centennial, at 65-16, have a comfortable 19½-game lead in their division.
