Stam 3-4 to Power Warheads Offense
The Amarillo Warheads beat the Bethlehem Angel Kitties, 6-3, at Ballpark of Henderson. The Warheads got a fine performance from designated hitter Kjeld Stam, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was Amarillo reliever Guillermo Flores, now 1-0. The loser was Ray Spencer. The save went to Wijnand Boone, his 1st this season.

Stam had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch slider from Ray Spencer, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Warheads a 5-3 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Stam.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Warheads manager Armentario Holguin. "This one was nice to get."

The loss drops Bethlehem to 2-1.
