The Fort Knox Centennial defeated the Athletic Club KC U-21, 7-2, at Ballpark of Baxter. Víctor Sánchez was a standout performer for Fort Knox. His 4 hits included 1 single and 3 doubles, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 1 he knocked in. The Centennial, at 63-15, have a comfortable 20½-game lead in their division.
The Centennial grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With two out, Eric Buchanan, who is tied for 2nd in the PA- with a 0.92 WHIP, hit a 3-run home run off Robinson Soto, putting Fort Knox in front, 6-2. For Buchanan, it was his 2nd home run of the season.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Buchanan said. "That's how it goes."
