Hounds Lose Late, 3-0
|
In a low-scoring game between the Memphis Music and the Hicksville Hounds, pitcher Gus Morris was masterful on the mound. The Memphis right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-0 win. The winner in relief was Otis Mullen. He is now 4-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Memphis is 5th in the Premier Low A with a record of 37-35.
Memphis took a 3-0 lead on Alex Crosby's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Crosby hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Hicksville pitcher Ramiro Tapián shaking his head.
"Gus just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Memphis manager Tom Christensen.
