In a tight affair between the Montana Pandas and the Long Island Lighthouse, pitcher Lewis Thompson was in the zone. The Montana right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-1. Thompson went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 9. His record improves to 2-0. Jeffery Meyers picked up the save for Montana, his 13th of the year.

Montana used the timely hitting of Michizane Yamashita to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pandas ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Michael Esposito.

Montana raised its record to 18-12 with the win.
