Fading U-21 Lose 7th Straight
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Hicksville Hounds and Athletic Club KC U-21.
The Hicksville Hounds faced a tough opponent in Athletic Club KC pitcher Jorge Cuespo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hound Pound by a final score of 5-3. Cuespo went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs. Hicksville reliever Roberto Hernández picked up the win to move to 3-1. Diego Ramos suffered the loss.
Hicksville took a 5-3 lead on Richard Oliver's 15th home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Athletic Club KC pitcher Diego Ramos in the bottom of the eighth.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Hicksville manager Phil Carroll. "It's usually not just one thing."
The losses continue to mount for Athletic Club KC, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
