Hudsonville Park was the site of a competitive game between the Shady Side Zoomies and Hudsonville Flanderses.
Colin Potter never let the Zoomies get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Flanderses to a win, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Potter, now 2-7. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 6. Paul Montgomery collected his 4th save.
Hudsonville second baseman Ron Shreeve contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 47th hit of the season and put the Flanderses ahead, 2-1.
"It was a good effort all around," said Shreeve.
Hudsonville, with the win, sits at 22-42.
