Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Dylan Park.

Despite a fine performance by first baseman Kevin Clark, the Quebec City Baby Blues lost to the Hicksville Hounds, 8-6. Clark went 4-6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Hounds now own a record of 26-27.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Kauno Sihvonen came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Quebec City pitcher Jim Lee, he hit a 2-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Hicksville on top, 5-4.

Hounds manager Phil Carroll wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
