The Crowley Cajuns had to overcome a fine performance from Hicksville pitcher César Romero to grab a 2-1 win at Hound Pound. Romero allowed 2 runs over 7.2 innings. Ricardo Fernández, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-1. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 5. The winning continues for Crowley, with the latest making it 8 straight.
The Cajuns got an important contribution from catcher Adrian Blake, who in the top of the second hit a slider into left for a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Cajuns ahead, 2-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Blake told the Crowley Today.
