In a tight game between the Beaumont Crossbeaus and the Memphis Music, pitcher Romão Grais was terrific on the mound. The Beaumont left-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. Grais picked up the win for Beaumont, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. The save went to Tan-ming Lou, his 9th this season.
Roque Verde had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Beaumont. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Beaumont in front, 2-0.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Memphis manager Tom Christensen.
Memphis now has a 6-game losing streak.
