The Shady Side Zoomies picked up a win at Terriers Ballpark, knocking off the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 3-1. On the mound for Shady Side was left-hander Jed Knight, who played a pivotal role in the win. The 8th-place Zoomies now have a 5-game winning streak.
Dylan Bettinson tagged a home run off Lien-ying Cheung in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run blast put the Zoomies on top, 3-1. In all, Bettinson had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"This was a tough loss," said Beaumont manager Stephen Richards. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
