Alameda right-hander Richard Poirer helped his team edge Cut Off by the score of 2-1. Poirer kept the opposing lineup in check. Javier Vargas snagged the win in relief. In 3 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits. He's now 2-3 on the season. The win makes Alameda 39-50.
Alameda used the clutch hitting of Brandon Flores to snag the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Airmen ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
Poirer called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
