The Shady Side Zoomies faced a tough opponent in Crowley pitcher Rock DeVote, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Titans Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. DeVote went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Shady Side reliever Gilberto Valdéz got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Kazuma Komatsu was tagged with the loss. James Little recorded the save, his 4th.
Kan-goo Yi drove in one run for Shady Side. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Iasepa Keli. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Crowley manager Neal Davis.
Crowley, at 9-11, has lost 4 straight.
