The Beaumont Crossbeaus went home winners at Ballpark of Elkhorn City, thanks in large part to starter Christopher Parkin. Parkin stifled the Athletic Club KC U-21, enabling Beaumont to grab the 4-1 win. Parkin went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 11. His record improves to 3-1. Beaumont is now 8-12, while Athletic Club KC is 13-7.
Beaumont needed the clutch hitting of Juan Suarze to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Crossbeaus on top, 4-1. For the game, Suarze had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"No time for flexing," said Suarze. "It's always one game at a time."
