Hudsonville Park was the site of a tense game between the Quebec City Baby Blues and Hudsonville Flanderses.
Damon Colcott could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Quebec City Baby Blues lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Hudsonville Flanderses at Hudsonville Park. Augusto Nieves snagged the win in relief. In 1.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 1-1 on the season. Manuel Liscano locked down his 2nd save.
The Flanderses got a big boost from designated hitter Juan Salazar who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning off Baby Blues hurler Damon Colcott. It was his 11th RBI of the season and put Hudsonville on top, 3-2.
Salazar said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The win gives Hudsonville a record of 5-13.
