|
The Fort Knox Centennial picked up a win at Ballpark of Baxter, knocking off the Athletic Club KC U-21, 8-1. Starting pitcher Brent Aspden was a big reason why. Aspden went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 3-0. Jesús Zargosa collected save number 1.
Víctor Sánchez, who is tied for 2nd in the PA- in RBI with 16, contributed to the Fort Knox win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Wilson López.
The Centennial, now 11-4, have been red hot.
