The Cut Off Crawdads and Laredo Hawks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Laredo picked up a win at Crawdads Field, toppling the Cut Off Crawdads, 4-1. Pitcher Connor Drake was one of the reasons the Hawks triumphed. Drake, the winner, moves to 3-6. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up no walks. Éric Lemaire was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 25 save opportunities.

In the top of the first, Denny McBride delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Laredo third baseman hit a 2-run single, putting the Hawks in front, 4-1.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Drake told a Laredo Herald reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."

The Hawks improve their record to 43-37 with the win over Cut Off.
