Shredders Need Extra Innings to Top Cattlemen, 5-2
|
The Hollywood Shredders faced a tough opponent in Ft. Worth pitcher Ray Harrison, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Cattle Pen by a final score of 5-2. Harrison went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Getting the save was Bobby Taylor, his 10th. The first-place Shredders have won 10 straight.
The result might have been different for Hollywood, had it not been for Miguel Bustamante, the slugging first baseman . Bustamante stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Hollywood up, 3-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Bustamante told the Hollywood Citizen.
