Blaze Keep Streak Alive With 5-2 Win
|
Getting offensive support from Francisco Pérez, the South Beach Blaze topped the Laredo Hawks, 5-2. Pérez went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Blaze. Ketema El Hindi came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 3-0. The win elevated the Blaze to 48-21.
Jorge Gómez made an early impact for South Beach when he stroked his 2nd triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which came with two out in the bottom of the second, put the Blaze on top, 2-0.
"I believe in our guys," said South Beach skipper Vicente Rodríguez. "I like the energy they're playing with."
