Mejía, Laredo Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
Laredo got a first-rate effort from pitcher Carlos Mejía, who frustrated Alameda hitters en route to a 1-0 Hawks triumph at Hawks Field. The save went to Éric Lemaire, number 18 for him. The Hawks now own a record of 36-29.

Mejía ran roughshod over the Alameda lineup. The left-hander allowed just 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 9. With the victory, he goes to 5-6 on the season.

"I was a little disappointed," said Alameda manager Gonzalo Féliz. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
