Beavers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Centennial
The Ballard Beavers had to overcome a fine performance from Fort Knox pitcher Eric Buchanan to grab a 3-1 win at Ballpark of Baxter. Buchanan allowed no runs over 5 innings. Jerry Russell, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Ballard is now 1-1.

Runs were hard to come by in this one. Otis Elliott's at-bat with two out in the top of the 11th, therefore, was critical. The Ballard catcher reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 2 runs, to put his team on top, 3-1.
