Blaze Edge Past Arryns, 4-3
|
Lake Erie first baseman Sidney Nuesink had a good game, even if his team did not. The Arryns dropped a 4-3 decision to South Beach at Arryns Ballpark. Nuesink went 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. Lawrence MacLellan, now 3-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The win makes South Beach 38-19.
South Beach used the timely hitting of Simon Goodman to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blaze on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Lake Erie manager Sammy Bannatyne said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
