Win Streak Now at 9 for Gallos
|
Fokke Kaspers was superb against Myrtle Beach. The right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the PA with a 11.0 K/9 rate, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Gallos victory. The score was 4-2. The winning pitcher was Kaspers, now 2-0. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 10. Jorge Cabral earned the save for Delmarva, his 2nd.
Delmarva used the bat of Hunter Griffin to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Gallos ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"The clubhouse vibe is great," said Delmarva manager Phil Baker.
The 4th-place Gallos improved to 30-27.
