Airmen Collect 6-5 Win Over Seahawks
The Alameda Airmen wiggled past the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 6-5, at Alameda Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of Alameda pitcher Kelly McCarthy. Richard Poirer earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 3-2. The Airmen move to 22-24 with the win, while the Seahawks drop to 17-29.

The Airmen relied on catcher Don Adams for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 12th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring double to seal the deal.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said McCarthy.
