Hobeaus Cut Down Seahawks, 4-3
|
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus did just enough to sneak past the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 4-3, at Smokies Stadium. Smoky Mountain pitcher Alastair Lewis, in particular, had a standout performance. Lewis picked up the win for Smoky Mountain, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-4. Rusty Collins got credit for the save for Smoky Mountain. It was his 2nd of the year.
In the bottom of the fifth, with Smoky Mountain leading 3-2, left fielder Víctor Rivas hit a run-scoring single. The hit came off Greg Lovell and put the Hobeaus ahead, 4-2.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Lewis told the Smoky Mountain Daily. "Whatever it takes."
Their 22-23 record puts the Hobeaus 5th in the Premier A.
