Lake Erie Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
John Helms did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Cut Off Crawdads from losing, 4-3, to the Lake Erie Arryns at Arryns Ballpark. Helms was 2-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jason Ford, now 3-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. The Arryns move to 22-19 with the win, while the Crawdads drop to 24-17.

Lake Erie won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two outs and Al Hussey on the mound for Cut Off, left fielder Olvido Doesburg hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Arryns fans to their feet.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Doesburg said.
