Hawks Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
Laredo starter Sherman Travis put a stranglehold on the Smoky Mountain offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Hawks to a 5-1 win. With the win, Laredo raised its record to 23-12.

Laredo took a 4-1 lead on Will Moore's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Smoky Mountain pitcher António Rivera in the bottom of the eighth.

In comments to the Laredo Herald, Moore admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
