Burney in Cruise Control in 8-0 Win
|
Dale Burney was superb against Eugene. The left-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the SA with a 13 quality starts, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a River Rats victory. The score was 8-0. Eugene is in the throes of a 11-game losing streak.
Burney imposed his will on the Vandals, scattering 2 hits over 8.1 innings while striking out 11. The left-hander upped his season record to 10-4.
"I had a good game plan," said Burney. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Kevin McCoy said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
