Joseph Leads Oakland to 1-0 Win
|
The Oakland Oaks got a good effort from starter Nick Joseph in defeating the San Mateo Dirty Reds at Lang Park. The final score was 1-0. Oakland goes to 7-6.
Joseph, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 6 in 8 innings and gave up no runs.
Joseph moves to 1-1 on the year with 16 strikeouts.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said San Mateo skipper David Dodds.
