Hawks Snatch Late Win
|
The Laredo Hawks took Athletic Club KC pitcher Jack Price's best shot and still were able to claim a win at ACKC Youth Field. The final score had Laredo getting past the U-24, 4-2. Price went 6 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 4. The win was credited to Michael Wright in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Brandon LaSalle took the loss. The win has Laredo at 9-10.
Laredo used the clutch hitting of John Robinson to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hawks ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Robinson said.
