A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the South Beach Blaze and Laredo Hawks.

The South Beach Blaze beat the Laredo Hawks by a score of 6-2. South Beach third baseman Denny Forbes deserved the lion's share of the credit. Forbes went 2 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Blaze. Yeong-suk Yi, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings.

With South Beach leading 4-2 in the top of the fifth, Forbes hit a cutter from Connor Drake for a run-scoring double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Blaze ahead, 5-2.

"If it's down the middle," said Forbes, "you might as well hit it."

Laredo, with the loss, is 7-10.
