2-1 Loss Deepens Huntington Funk
|
Chip Sizemore was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Grand Forks and Huntington. The Caterpillars right-hander helped his team beat the Hermit Crabs, 2-1. Grand Forks reliever Bruce Lewis picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Su-hyeon Song shouldered the loss. The 4th-place Hermit Crabs have lost 6 straight games.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Chad Valdés was at the plate when Grand Forks scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Caterpillars to go in front, 2-1.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Valdés.
