Levittown pitcher Bernardo Rivera did his part in helping his team beat the Columbia River Rats, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Rivera, now 9-3. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. The win elevated the Blue Dragons to 52-29.

Tied up with the River Rats in the top of the fourth inning, the Blue Dragons got a boost from shortstop Jason Thrower. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Thrower saw a 2-1 curveball from John Miller and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Levittown on top, 2-1.

"You don't always need a lot of runs to win," said Rivera. "Sometimes you need just one or two."
