Caterpillars Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
Grand Forks center fielder Samuel Lopez helped his team beat the Matlacha Manatees, 7-5. Lopez, who is rated as the 82nd best prospect by BNN, went 2 for 3 for the Caterpillars. Grand Forks reliever Jesús Gamboa was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Pedro Gómez. Larry Pulsifer, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Ricardo Hoera came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Matlacha pitcher John Armstrong, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Grand Forks on top, 7-5.

"We're all smiles after that win," Lopez told the Grand Forks Bulletin.
