Manatees Knock Off Reapers at Fuller Park
|
Matlacha pitcher Gabriel Salas did his part in helping his team beat the Grim Reapers, 5-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Salas, now 2-6. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. Victor Jones finished to wrap up his 6th save.
Matlacha took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Frank Chang stroked a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Manatees.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Chang, "and go after the next one."
The Reapers, now 24-37, have lost 4 straight.
