It's a No-No for Wolff
|
In a dominant outing, Jelmar Wolff of the Kennesaw Jets totally silenced the bats of the Levittown Blue Dragons, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the Jets' 2-0 victory, Wolff faced only 30 batters, surrendered no hits, had 8 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Kennesaw manager Kevin Tyler said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Frank Jackson told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.
"The Jets had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Wolff pitched a heck of a ballgame."
Wolff has fashioned a 2-2 mark for the season, 1.68 ERA and thrown 53.2 innings in 9 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .231 against him.
