Big Day for Lewis as Yellows Down Manatees, 6-3
|
The Yucca Valley Yellows bested the Matlacha Manatees by a score of 6-3, with shortstop Ed Lewis getting the main credit. On the day, Lewis was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Yellows. The loss drops Matlacha to 7-10.
With Yucca Valley leading 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Lewis hit a 2-run single off Matlacha hurler Gabriel Salas. It was the 18th hit of the season for Lewis and put his team ahead, 5-2.
