Matlacha and Kingston duked it out and the Manatees came out victorious.

Matlacha starter Brent Richardson put a stranglehold on the Kingston offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Manatees to a 3-0 win. Vic Byrd collected save number 2.

Early in the game, first baseman Kharouf bin Hajjaj had a 3-run home run for Matlacha. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Manatees on top, 3-0.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Kingston skipper Scott Riggs, "and it cost us."

With the win, Matlacha lifts its record to 4-4.
