The Washington Generals got a superb performance from pitcher Dean Kluin. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Mancelona. The Torch won the game, 3-2. Kluin threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. John Bunch, the winner, improved to 5-5. He held the Generals to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 10 and walking 1. Mark Garland notched his 4th save in 5 chances.

Aca Milosevic helped out the Mancelona cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the pinch hitter drove in one run.

After the game, Mancelona manager Joe Wilson applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

Mancelona is now 35-48, while Washington is 38-45.
