Kingston Beats Grand Forks, 2-1
|
The Kingston Mangos eked out a 2-1 win versus the Grand Forks Caterpillars at The Cocoon. Nobody did more than pitcher Juan Romero. He was terrific. Romero picked up the win for Kingston, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Chip Moore earned the save for Kingston, his 1st of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Bill Davis? The Kingston first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mangos on top, 1-0. For the game, Davis had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Every loss stings," said Grand Forks manager Steve Ferguson. "This one is no exception."
The defeat makes Grand Forks 2-1.
