Tula Fall Short, 5-4, at Niagara Falls
|
Fans watched the Niagara Falls Expos and the Chicago Tula fight to the finish.
Chicago designated hitter Gregory Hartman was sensational. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Niagara Falls beat the Tula, 5-4. Niagara Falls reliever Chris MacIntyre was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Pablo Moreno took the loss. Getting the save was Juan Castro, his 9th.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Tommy Olsen was at the plate when Niagara Falls scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Expos to go in front, 4-3.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Niagara Falls manager Mackenzie Bolen. "It's usually not just one thing."
The win puts Niagara Falls at 31-48.
