Rivera Powers Godfathers to 4-1 Win
|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Alejandro Rivera, the Pontiac Godfathers defeated the Mancelona Torch, 4-1. Rivera was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Godfathers. John Crouch collected save number 4. The Godfathers go to 28-50, putting them last in the Menard's A.
Rivera had a big hit for Pontiac with one out in the bottom of the third. With Pontiac leading 1-0, Rivera hit a 2-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Godfathers up, 3-0.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Rivera said in reaction to the win.
