Jones Plays Big Role in Walla Walla Win
|
Pitcher Sidney Jones was sensational for the Walla Walla Walleye in his team's 7-0 triumph over the Washington Generals. Jones picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Walla Walla, at 52-22, is 3½ games up in the Menard's A.
The Walleye liked what they saw from Jones. The 22-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Generals to no runs on 1 hit over 7 innings, and striking out 5.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Jones.
