Expos Stick Vibes with 7-6 Loss
|
The Niagara Falls Expos withstood an impressive performance by Rocky Mountain shortstop Ken Stjerna to defeat the Vibes, 7-6, at Waterfall Park. Stjerna went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Juan Castro closed it out for his 7th save. At 27-42, the Expos find themselves in 11th place in the Menard's A.
The Expos took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Dakila Marbibi banged a two-out single. Niagara Falls had been trailing 6-5, but Marbibi hit a 1-0 changeup from José Correa for a 2-run single.
Expos manager Mackenzie Bolen wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
